What is it? A weekly series of MP3 leaks from DUJEOUS, NYC's illest hip-hop band. Every Tuesday, you'll hear a new uncleared and uncut joint from the Duj. Everyone from John Denver to the Budos Band gets jacked for beats. You all got a taste on Election Day, when we leaked the Jeezy-jacking "Show 'Em". If you didn't, click here. The series will wrap up triumphantly on I-Day, aka Inaguration Day, January 20th, 2009, and then the No Clearance EP, featuring all the leaks, will hit the e-streets.
Anyway, without further to do, here's the first leak (second if you count "Show 'Em") from Dujeous' No Clearance series, this time featuring The Shins:
And once again, we wanted to remind you about the Dujeous show at Mercury Lounge in NYC on Saturday, December 13. Details on the way.

Wsup people:
Peace to everyone who supported our last-minute jamboree at 205, where we set off CMJ on a good note. The live versions of our single, "Break Bread" and "Research"—which is starting to get picked up by college and indie radio stations across the world (more on that later this week)—killed, and openers Smash Mechanics and Misnomer(s) did their thing. But Dujeous/CMJ madness ain't over yet. This Thursday, spread love the Brooklyn way and check us out once more at Rose Live Music in Williamsburg. Did we mention it's FREE? UPDATE: "Break Bread" and "Research" hitting radio now! Dujeous live at CMJ next Thursday...
Wed, Oct. 15 2008
Wsup people:
Big news on the Dujeous front. New York’s illest hip-hop ensemble has two huge things in the works. One, our forthcoming single “Break Bread” b/w “Research” is hitting a radio station near you as we speak. Two, we’ve got a superfresh showcase at Rose Live Music in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, next Thursday, October 23 as part of the CMJ Music Marathon. Get ready…
First off, the single—the first from our upcoming album, Day In Day Out. The A-side is the soulful “Break Bread,” which features backup harmonies from John Legend and Maya Azucena, coproduction from Michael Leonhart, strings from Misnomer(s), and the most heartfelt, personal rhymes Dujeous has kicked yet. The B-side is the cutthroat, battle-ready “Research,” which showcases Australian DMC champ DJ Staen 1 on the cuts and master Masayo Ishigure
on the koto, a traditional Japanese instrument. Early versions of both
songs have leaked already, but these new, improved takes—mixed by Ryan West of Kanye and Just Blaze fame—are on another level. To listen, check out www.DUJEOUS.net or our Myspace page. Both songs will be available for sale on iTunes in November. But for now, keep your ears glued to your favorite radio station. Thanks to the fine folks over at Spectre Music,
both songs are currently shipping out to DJs nationwide. The power is
in your hands: If you wanna hear them play it, request us early and
often. Or if you’re a DJ, or you know a DJ, who wants to get down with
the movement, get at us so we can get you some music. “Break Bread” is already picking up some buzz on the interwebs—ArtofRhyme.com touted it as a "staff pick." Gyeah.
Now for the show. Dujeous will be bringing their unmatched stage show to Rose Live Music in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, next Thursday, October 23, for the celebrated CMJ Music Marathon. We’ll be rocking with Mobius Collective, a dope rotating circle of talented musicians that includes saxman Troy Simms, who rocked with the Duj back in June, master drummer Adam Deitch, and Dujeous’ own Borahm Lee
on keys. Even better? The cover is….FREE. Make sure you get there
early: with the free door, the dope lineup, Rose’s intimate size, and
thousands of CMJ-goers in town, it’s gonna be packed. The details:

More good news: Dujeous is hooking up with Spike Lee and Nokia for a cool film project. A few months ago, Lee and the cellphone maker announced they were partnering to direct a short film comprised entirely of user-generated footage shot by folks on their cellphones. Well, they recruited Dujeous to provide some music for the film; "First/Last," a fan favorite from Dujeous' debut album, City Limits, is featured. Check out the still-in-progress collaborative effort atwww.nokiaproductions.com. Peace to INgrooves for hooking that up, and for the super-productive link-up meetings out in San Fran (more on Dujeous and INgrooves at a later date).
Aside: Check the calendar for some new dates, y'all...

DUJEOUS in SAN FRAN, DENVER and more...
Thu, Aug. 28 2008
First off, big shouts to everyone who ignored the late hour and Michael Phelps to come check out Dujeous the other night at Knitting Factory. With the Duj tearing it down and a surprise guest cameo from Trigga the Gambler and Smoothe the Hustler, y'all presumably had a good time. Keep tuning in to dujeous.net and the Dujeous myspace page (where you can also check out a dope new Mojo freestyle) in the coming weeks for new show dates.

We'll be shooting the breeze with DJ Francesca on the "Do I Move You Show" from 6 to 10 p.m. Pacific time. Tune in and zone out.
Hope you'll all be watching Barack's historic speech tonite. If you're out in Denver, keep an eye for Dujeous drummer Tomek, who's running around in one of our "Yes Duj Can" T-shirts, designed by our boy Vincent Skyers over at Black Gold Brand. Go to the Dujeous myspace page to get 'em while they're hot.

BREAKING: DUJEOUS & PANACEA live this Saturday in NYC
Tue, Jun. 3 2008
Wsup people:
Summer is approaching. Here in NYC that means delicious BBQ, skimpy clothing, block parties, unbearably sweaty commutes, and blackouts. And for the past several years, it's also meant a classically dope live show fromDujeous. This year we're continuing the tradition and kicking off the season in style at Crash Mansion on Saturday, June 7th. We'll be joined by buzzed-about DC duoPanacea. On the heels of their acclaimed Rawkus Records LP The Scenic Route, they're set to release The Re-Route later this year. Their newest leak, "Orange Penicillin," has gotthe Internet goin' nuts. Needless to say, Panacea and the Duj live is well worth your hard-earned 10 bucks. Read on for the show details:
One last thing: Keep an eye on the Dujeous Myspace page. With our new album in the final stages, we'll be steadily leaking new material, including our just-completed joint with Dap-Kings songstress Sharon Jones, whom I'm sure most Duj heads are already familiar with. Get ready...

DUJEOUS MUSIC in SEAN BELL video on THE NATION and HUFFPO
Wed, May. 7 2008
R.I.P. Sean Bell. The battle is just beginning...
I'm sure you all know about the tragedy and injustice that unfolded here in NYC. Well, despite what the media says, us New Yorkers aren't taking it lightly. Click on the video above to get a firsthand look at the anger that the Sean Bell verdict sparked in the streets of New York. The video report, titled 50 Shots: The Sean Bell Demonstrations, was put together by acclaimed blogger/journalist Max Blumenthal, and is featured on prominent liberal websites TheNation.com and Huffington Post. The video features "I Witness," a joint from the forthcoming Dujeous album featuring the infamous Immortal Technique. The song was inspired partially by the Sean Bell shooting.
The entire Dujeous crew urges you to do like the people above and speak out. Sean Bell wasn't the first victim, and he won't be the last—unless we take action.

DETAILS FOR TRIBECA SCREENINGS
Tue, Apr. 29 2008
As we told you last time, DUJEOUS music is featured in two film series by young New Yorkers screening later this week during the Tribeca Film Festival. Our City, My Story, a series of youth-made films with vastly different perspectives on life in NYC, includes Dujeous heaters "We Just" and "Epic Proportions." Meanwhile, "Sometimes" is featured in The Stereotype Project, a group of films made by Bronx middle schoolers that examine prejudice. The clip from The Stereotype Project with "Sometimes" was aired on both NBC's Today Show and cable network NY1 last week. Peace to the fine peoples over at the Tribeca Film Institute and Tribeca Teaches for helping these kids realize their visions, and for connecting DUJEOUS with them. Read on if you'd like to attend a screening for either series:
More good news. Music by DUJEOUS is featured in The Stereotype Project, a series of four films produced by Bronx middle schoolers with the guidance and support of Tribeca Teaches, an educational program launched by the Tribeca Film Institute. A clip of the film featuring the DUJEOUS banger "Sometimes"—which was also in the acclaimed film Half Nelson—will be shown today (Wednesday) at various times throughout the day on NY1. Thursday (tomorrow), the film and the clip with "Sometimes" will be featured on NBC's Today Show between 9 and 10 a.m. EST. Music by Dujeous fam The Budos Band is showcased as well. The Stereotype Project will screen at Bronx Prep Charter School on May 1st and May 2nd, along with selected films from the Tribeca Film Festival. Support the kids and come check it out.
DUJEOUS music is also once again featured in this year's installment of Our City, My Story, a series of films by talented young filmmaker fellows at the Tribeca Film Institute that explore different aspects of life in NYC. Our City will screen during the Tribeca Film Festival on May 1 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. A premiere gala will follow on May 2nd at the AMC Theatre on 19th St. and Broadway. You can check out last year's wonderful Our City, My Story, which features "City Limits" and several other Dujeous songs and beats, by clicking here.
In the meantime we'll check you out this Saturday at Mercury Lounge...
Our ears are still ringing from DUJEOUS' monster throwdown at Mercury Lounge back in February, but the crew is back at it again. Check for NYC's illest hip-hop band onstage at Mercury Lounge on Saturday, April 26th. More special guests will be in tow, more crazy new songs will be revealed, and more eardrums will be popped. THE DUJ & THE RUB!!!
Sat, Mar. 22 2008
Peace to The Rub—the super-acclaimed, super-dope DJ crew consisting of Cosmo Baker, DJ Ayres, and DJ Eleven—for featuring Dujeous on their newest release, History of Hip-Hop Volume 20. Each volume of the History of Hip-Hop series blends the illest tracks of a given year; this latest mix, by DJ Eleven, is dedicated to 1998, and Dujeous' “Cinematics” is featured. Other tracks include classics like Jay-Z’s “It’s Alright” and forgotten-but-seminal gems like Xzibit, Rass Kass & Saafir’s “3 Card Molly.” Our first single evar, “Cinematics” introduced us to the world beyond NYC, became a classic instrumental for turntablists, and is still a crowd favorite at Dujeous shows. We’re honored to have it included...
(from left) Taylormade tracks with Tomek and Ted Chung
Yessir. DUJEOUS recently got up with our peoples Ted Chung—Snoop's right hand man, co-executive producer and frequently seen face on Father Hood, Snoop's hit reality show—to do some production work for the Dogg at NYC's Legacy Studios. We collaborated on two smoking beats (Mas D and Mo each jumped on a hook) for Snoop, who just released Ego Trippin', his ninth album. Our beats didn't make that LP in time, but you're definitely gonna hear them sometime in the near future. We'll keep you in the know...

A FEW THINGS...
Mon, Mar. 3 2008
Just wanna keep alla yall in the loop.
First off, in the hecticness of our Asia/Pacific tour, we forgot to show y'all an incredible video featuring rhymes, singing, and cameos from DUJEOUS. Check out "The Greater Good," by Delta, featuring our very own Mojo. This track was on our Game 7 mixtape, as well as Delta's acclaimed The Lostralian. In case you haven't been paying attention, Delta is the nicest MC Down Under, one of our closest homie stromies, and a frequent collaborator with the Duj (check "Doorbell" and "Shades of Green" on Game 7). This song has been burning up the Aussie airwaves for a good year, and the video certainly does it justice. Look for cameos from Jigsaw the Puzzler, The Beatnuts' Psycho Les and Dujeous' Mas D and Rheturik. Check it out:
In other news, we hope you've been checking our the music player here and on our myspace page. We've been leaking sneak peeks of the new album. We're putting the finishing touches on "S.O.S." and "Mishap" as we speak. Keep checking back for more new butters...
One last thing: We forgot to thank everybody who came out and helped us shut down NYC's Mercury Lounge last month. We couldnt've asked for a better welcome home. The venue was packed, the heads were nodding, the hands were raised, and everything was lovely. By the way, if anyone has any video footage from that night, get at us.
It's been more than three months since Dujeous last rocked the stage at home in NYC. Since then, we've been around the globe, graced stages in Japan, Korea, Guam and Hawaii, logged about 50 hours of plane time, opened Christmas presents, and popped champagne. Needless to say, it's been a while, but we're back. Saturday, February 9th, at the good ol' Mercury Lounge. We've got new songs, new tricks, and new stories. Be there...

blogs like Brooklyn Vegan, OhWord, and Imageyenation, Game 7is praised in this month’s issue of The Source magazine, with David Banner on the
cover. Check for the Duj on page 91, in the Tale of the Tape section. Here’s an
excerpt:
“Rolling off the critically acclaimed City Limits, Dujeous has arrived for their encore, Game
7. Three MCs plus bass, drums, guitar, and
trumpet make for sounds that match the range of topics. From binge-drinking
(“Beer”) to politics (“Death and Taxes”), plus collabs with Immortal Technique
and John Legend and cosigns from Saigon, Ice-T, and The Game, expect the
unexpected.”

As you've probably heard 'round these parts,
Dujeous worked with Mark Ronson on his incredible new album
Version, which hit stores last week. Dujeous trumpeter Dave Guy
is on every single song, while bassist Apex provides low end for
three. The album features other great artists like Amy Winehouse, Lily
Allen, the Dap-Kings, ODB, and others, all putting their own twist on
Ronson's funky, mod-like covers of recent and semi-recent pop hits.
Good stuff. Mark is also responsible for the remix of Lily Allen's
"Smile" that we were featured on, and has always supported the DUJ in
general. Return the favor by checking out Ronson out at
http://myspace.com/markronson. Oh, and copping Version, of
course.
DUJEOUS & RHYMEFEST rock the Crank Yankers theme song on MTV
Sun, Mar. 11 2007
Dujeous members Dave Guy and Taylormade have teamed up with Chicago MC Rhymefest to craft the theme for the new season of everyone's favorite puppet-laden prank call show, "Crank Yankers," on MTV2. The appropriately off-the wall song features the lush trumpets of Guy and hard-edged production wizardry of Taylormade, while Kanye West affiliate Rhymefest weaves in and out of the beat, dropping his patented sidesplitting rhymes. The result is straight bonkers, big band meets boom-bap. Tune in to "Crank Yankers" Fridays at 10 PM EST on MTV2.
DUJEOUS music featured in PBS film Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes
Mon, Mar. 5 2007
Several Dujeous songs are featured in the acclaimed documentary "Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes," which premiered February 20th on PBS. The hard-hitting film, which examines gender politics in hip-hop, has been proclaimed a "must-see" in mainstream and hip-hop publications alike. Don't miss it. Check http://www.pbs.org for more info as well broadcast times in your area.
DUJEOUS' Dave Guy in the Village Voice
Thu, Mar. 1 2007
Dujeous' Dave Guy was recently singled out by the Village Voice for his skillful contributions as lead trumpeter on the new big-band album from enigmatic jazz legend Charles Tolliver, "With Love." The Voice's Francis Davis calls Guy an "overlooked hero" on "the new year's most eagerly anticipated jazz album."
